This old bur oak (Quercus macrocarpa) is about 5 ft. thick and is hundreds of years old. It's in Marion County just outside the fourth turn of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was an old tree when the first Indy 500 was run in 1911. These pictures were taken May 10, 2009.Link to Quercus macrocarpa:

These pictures were mistakenly dated 5/19/09 unitl now. 5/10/09 is the correct date.
