This chinquapin oak (Quercus muhlenbergii) stands alone in the Coke field, across Georgetown Road from the bur oak in the previous post. It also has been here well over a hundred summers, maybe two hundred. Here since the days this was wild land.The picture above taken May 10, 2009. The pictures below taken May 25, 2009.
