Daylily
Daylily (Hemerocallis fulva) is a common sight along roadsides. Daylily turns both sides of the road orange for about a quartermile here, between Logansport and Rochester. It's the biggest daylily roadside I know of. Cass County, July 3, 2009.
Once daylily gets established it will keep coming up year after year. One of the first green signs of spring is the new daylily leaves spiking up out of the previous year's daylily patch.
